New MSc Sustainability Leadership
The NEW 2 year part-time MSc Sustainability Leadership enables participants to formulate strategies for driving sustainable business transformation. Successful graduates of the programme will be fully equipped to lead organisations through the transition towards a sustainable planet and society thanks to;
- A wide interdisciplinary curriculum, suitable for any working professional who is looking to understand the impact of sustainability on organisations.
- Weekly online evening classes, allowing for industry’s skills needs to be met in a flexible manner.

New MSc Cybersecurity Risk Management
The MSc in Cybersecurity Risk Management is a specialist qualification designed for students who wish to embark upon a career in the highly sought after area of IT security in a consultancy, strategic, business or management context. Upon successful completion of this MSc, graduates will be able to;
- Analyse the cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities and risks faced by an organisation
- Assess the cybersecurity posture of an organisation and recommend and implement appropriate solutions
- Test, monitor and continually improve the effectiveness of an organisation’s cybersecurity defence mechanisms
- Formulate business continuity and disaster recovery plans for an organisation
- Formulate cybersecurity and data protection policies and procedures for an organisation.
MSc HRM achieves alignment with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
We are delighted to announce that the MSc Human Resource Management programme has achieved alignment with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). It is the third programme in Ireland and among the first 10 in Europe to have achieved this recognition.
Founded in 1948 and headquartered in Virginia, USA, the Society for Human Resource Management is the world's largest HR professional society. SHRM promotes the role of HR as a profession and provides education, certification, and networking to its members. Since its inception, the Society has been serving the needs of its members and advancing the practice. Students enrolled in SHRM HR aligned programmes are provided with the opportunity to earn their SHRM-CP credential prior to graduating, providing them with a competitive advantage in the job market. Throughout the world, over 500 programs in approx. 425 educational institutions have been acknowledged by SHRM as being in alignment with its suggested guides and templates.
University of Galway Tax Clinic
The University of Galway Tax Clinic is a free student-run clinic where you will receive advice from University of Galway students under the supervision of experienced tax practitioners in a caring and trusting environment. The Tax Clinic aims to ensure the fairness and integrity of the tax system for taxpayers and to be a source of free information in relation to issues around taxation. Our aim is to assist and educate unrepresented taxpayers with the lifelong skills to look after their own tax affairs.
New Partnership with Florida International University (FIU)
J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics has announced an exciting collaboration with Florida International University. The programmes involved in this partnership are University of Galway’s MSc in International Management (IM) and FIU’s Masters in International Business (MIB). This collaboration with FIU will include an international trip to their university campus in Miami as well as visits to local multinational firms in Florida.
MSc Global Environmental Economics partners with UN on Climate Change Adaptation
The MSc Global Environmental Economics at the University of Galway has recently partnered with the UN Climate Change and Universities Partnership Programme. The Partnership offers opportunities for graduate students to work closely with local, national, and regional partners and international experts to carry out research projects aimed at addressing identified knowledge gaps related to the challenges of adapting to climate change.
