On Monday 23 March, Professor Marie Claire Van Hout provided students on the LLM in Criminology, Criminal Justice and Human Rights with a Masterclass on two distinct topics;

1. Health, medical ethics and prison environments, and
2. The care of infants, pregnant and breastfeeding women in contact with the criminal legal system: the need for global reform

Professor Marie Claire Van Hout, the Vice President Research, Innovation and Impact at South East Technological University, was appointed as an Adjunct Professor of the Crime, Punishment and Rights Research Cluster at the University of Galway in February 2026.
