2025/26 LLM International and Comparative Business Law Year in Review

University of Galway School of Law has published the 2025/26 LLM International and Comparative Business Law Year in Review, showcasing another successful year of academic excellence, professional engagement, and global perspectives for students on the programme.
The Year in Review highlights the wide range of opportunities available to students throughout the academic year, reflecting the programme's commitment to delivering a research-led, practice-oriented education that prepares graduates for careers in international commercial law.
From the outset, the programme places a strong emphasis on providing students with a rounded learning experience that extends beyond the classroom. Alongside teaching, students engage with leading legal practitioners, academics and industry experts through guest lectures, conferences, webinars and professional networking opportunities. They also benefit from field visits to leading law firms and multinational organisations, gaining valuable insights into legal practice and career pathways.
Among the highlights featured in this year's review are:
- Field visits to William Fry LLP, A&L Goodbody LLP, and PwC, where students met partners, trainees and professionals working across commercial law, taxation and consulting.
- Guest lectures from leading practitioners, including insights into in-house legal careers within multinational technology companies.
- Opportunities to attend conferences, research workshops and public events exploring contemporary developments in international and comparative business law.
- Placement opportunities through the programme's strong industry partnerships, enabling students to gain first-hand professional experience.
- The introduction of new modules including European Consumer Law and Policy, Commercial Law in Context, Private International Law, and International Tax Law and Policy, further strengthening the programme's contemporary and internationally focused curriculum.
Led by Professor Csongor István Nagy, the programme draws on the expertise of the School of Law's Private and Commercial Law Research Cluster, combining academic excellence with practical engagement to equip students with the legal knowledge, analytical skills and international outlook required to succeed in today's global business environment.
The School extends its thanks to all students, staff, alumni and industry partners who contributed to another successful year and looks forward to welcoming a new cohort of students in September 2026.
