University of Galway and PwC Ireland have renewed their long-standing strategic partnership, extending the collaboration to 2030 and reaffirming a shared commitment to developing future-ready business talent. Athena Swan Silver - Major milestone in advancing gender equality

University of Galway has marked a significant milestone in advancing gender equality, with the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics securing an Athena SWAN Silver Award. One of only two Schools of Business in the Republic of Ireland to achieve this distinction, the award recognises sustained, evidence-based progress in embedding equality, diversity and inclusion for staff and students across the School.

National Award Recognises University of Galway Tax Clinic’s Public Good Impact

University of Galway has received national recognition for its commitment to the public good, with the University of Galway Tax Clinic winning the Excellence in Education accolade at the Irish Accountancy Awards 2025. Directed by Professor Emer Mulligan, the award recognises the Clinic’s impact in advancing social inclusion, financial empowerment, and experiential learning through the provision of accessible, real-world tax education and support.
