NUI Galway Finance Society Fintech Event
NUI Galway's student Finance Society is to host in conjunction with Bank of Ireland, a FinTech Panel Discussion on
- Peter Oakes is an Ex-Director of the Central Bank of Ireland. Following the global financial crisis he took up the role of Director of Enforcement and Financial Crime in 2010 as part of the mission to reform the Irish central banking and financial regulation authority. He founded FinTech Ireland in 2014 and utilises his unique skill set of banking, payments, regulation and FinTech to advise firms on regulatory issues facing the FinTech sector.
- Cian Twomey lectures in economics at NUI Galway, where he delivers a wide range of modules across the discipline of financial economics. He is director of the M.Econ.Sc. in International Finance. Twomey has a strong interest in the area of FinTech.
- David Tighe is Head of Innovation at Bank of Ireland. He has 16 years experience in retail banking in Ireland and his areas of expertise include payments industry trends, digital banking and financial innovation and technology. Tighe believes that banking is at a digital crossroads, and that a digital transformation of the banking industry is underway, led by new FinTech technologies, the cashless society, and an upsurge in start-up activity.
- Suzanne Lynch is currently working with Gerry Barry on his new innovative business venture with Privity. Lynch has guest lectured in the Cambridge Judge Business School, and prior to joining Privity Suzanne worked for 24 years with CISCO systems where her area of expertise was strategy and planning.
